Privacy Policy
The following is an excerpt from SLR’s Policy and Procedures Handbook:
3.1 POLICY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION & PROTECTION OF PRIVACY ACT (FIPPA)
SLR London collects personal information (full name, address, telephone number, and email address) for the purpose of maintaining records of membership, registration and communication with its members.
Following registration in a study group, activity, workshop, discussion group, or interest group, a list comprising the names of registrants along with their telephone numbers and email addresses is distributed to all course leaders who are assisting with courses that term. Your personal information will be shared with members registered in the same course to allow members to correct their own contact information and communicate with each other via phone or email to share course material. If you do not wish to have your personal information circulated to members registered in the same course you must contact the course leader prior to the first day of the course.
Members registering for anything on-line through SLR’s website (including Social Events) will have their personal ordering information stored on SLR’s hosting website temporarily for up to a year. Bluehost Inc. is SLR’s website host and Bluehost is responsible for the security of any personal information stored on their servers. After placing an order, your personal information is manually downloaded using an encrypted link from the hosting website to SLR’s office computer. Personal ordering information is downloaded in a spreadsheet file format and stored temporarily for up to a year on SLR’s desktop computer, until it is transferred to SLR’s FileMaker office software for permanent storage. SLR members who have authorized access to SLR’s computer or to the FileMaker database have access to all present and past members’ personal information.
After registration in any SLR program or social event, SLR will continue sending participants information on SLR news and upcoming programs for a period of up to three years after the registration to keep members informed of SLR’s activities. To unsubscribe from these notifications a member must contact SLR in writing and ask for their email and physical address to be removed from SLR’s database.
Credit or debit card information provided on SLR’s website is sent to Square Inc. or PayPal through the internet using a secure (SSL) encrypted connection. Square and PayPal are responsible for keeping this information secure. SLR’s secure https://slrlondon.com website is hosted by Bluehost Inc. who manage the website’s security. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the industry standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and a customer’s web browser remains private and integral.
Personal information will not be used for any purpose or disclosed to any other persons unless required by legal subpoena.
