SLR Needs You!
Since SLR is a member-run organization, we rely totally on the ideas, skills and donated time of our volunteers to help us grow and flourish.
If you would like to volunteer for a committee or for just a few hours in any capacity (we often need help for such events as Program Previews and Open Houses), please leave a message at 519-438-3525 and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. They will be able to tell you what opportunities exist, what is involved and who to specifically contact.

Green & Blue Curriculum Committees
The two Curriculum Committees – Green and Blue – are responsible for creating the course topics available for study in each semester. Ideas for Study Groups, Activity Groups, Discussion Groups, and Interest Groups come from both SLR and committee members.
Suggestions are always welcome! Send us an email with your suggestions.
– The committees work together to ensure that SLR’s program for each term has a range of topics and formats, and courses of varying length (four week and ten week groups, for example).
– The committees also help to advertise social events and informally assesses the success of programs.
– Committee members may contact potential course leaders, liaising with them regarding programs and program needs such as the brochure description.
– The Social Committee chairperson attends the meetings; there are overlapping interests such as the Nature Walks, the Strawberry Social with some interest groups.
– We have fun developing new programs and are always looking for another member or two. If you would like to join a committee, let the chairperson know (name listed on the Volunteers webpage).
